Jamie Wollam grew up in Southern California. With a penchant for sports and a natural knack for music, he eventually decided to focus his energy on his love for drums. 

If you must know, it was a KISS concert that put him over the edge.

In the early days, Jamie would develop his skills by playing along with the albums that inspired him during his formative years. At 18, he went to the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in Hollywood, CA. After studying with some renowned educators, he graduated with honors in 1989. 

Soon after, Jamie landed his first pro-level touring gig as the drummer for Michael Sweet (of Stryper fame). This began a litany of high-profile work for artists such as Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Tommy Shaw, Fee Waybill, and Tom Morello's solo project, The Nightwatchman. In 2010, Jamie joined the legendary band Tears for Fears and has been with them ever since. 

A lesser-known fact about Jamie is that he is a musicians musician and has composed and produced music for television, film, and even other artists. 

With all these accomplishments under his belt, Jamie isn't one to sit back on his laurels and self-accolade. He intensely desires to grow in his craft, create new music, and inspire a new generation of music makers just starting. He also acknowledges that - even with all of his hard work and experiences - he hasn't made it through unscathed. 

The music life can be a tough gig. Unique, fascinating, and mind-blowing - absolutely. But it's a lifestyle that comes with a lot of wear and tear.
